Passing the Torch: Michal Guindy Steps Down as RISE’s Director

It is with great pride and humility that I part from my role as the head of RISE, the venture and innovation arm of Assuta Medical Centers.

Three years ago, working alongside the best possible partner, Daniel Rabina, I began laying the foundations for a team that, through lean collaborations and a vision of possibilities and opportunities, will promote medical innovation in Assuta, Israel, and the world for the good of mankind.

As a doctor, intimately familiar with medical workflows, I was able to stay focused on practical healthcare needs, looking for breakthroughs while helping our partners achieve their ambitions and apply their innovations at scale with Daniel’s expert help.

Making Assuta’s incredible data resources more accessible as well as setting up platforms for testing and validation, we met with over 700 startups and worked with over 70: and this is only the beginning.

Assuta has always embraced innovation, but I am proud to say we created a palpable impact, inspiring a strong entrepreneurial spirit and drive for progress.

After many years in the healthcare industry, I feel it is time to hand over the reins to a new generation. I am truly fortunate to have been a part of the young and vibrant Israeli innovation ecosystem, and would like to thank Assuta’s leadership: Prof. Shuki Shemer, Gidi Leshetz, and Dr. Bella Azarya, for allowing me to keep my free spirit as a manager in a large public organization – not easy, but it kept me happy.

Good luck to Daniel and our team: a talented, and exceptional group of professionals. There is no doubt in my mind that you will continue to do outstanding work.
